Find pizza in bangalore from here !!!!

Published by Veresh under Bangalore, Tech

Burrp has released a widget which allows to embed the burrp search functionality in blog making one to boast of some cool features in there blog. What that means ? Visitors to your site can search for Pizza in Bangalore from your blog and see the results in your blog .

Burrp has rich database for restaurants reviews which can be leveraged in blog by using search widget . Following functionality are there is the widget which I think is useful :

  • Auto completion for the areas in the city so for Bangalore Widget (which is running here) if people type in K then they get suggestion for the locality starting with K in the type box.
  • Showing the search result in the widget which has phone number of the place , rating and cost of the meal.
  • Ability to send the address of the restaurant from the search result as SMS without leaving the blog.

For me down side of the widget is that it is not a wordpress widget in the true sense and require some plumbing but considering this is first version we can expect improvements in future versions.

Try it out here , remember you can search only in Bangalore :

MoneyControl on Mobile

Published by Veresh under Economy, Stocks, Tech

Anyone who is a regular visitor on moneycontrol will be pleased to know that moneycontrol is available on mobile or to say there is a mobile version of moneycontrol available on mobile . I found it really intuitive . I was earlier using same type of application from reliance money but the version from moneycontrol is leaps and bound ahead of rmoney version in terma of technology . On content side I think moneycontrol is already ahead of rmoney .

One can download the application by going to wap.moneycontrol.com

Firefox 3 Beta Arrived

Published by Veresh under Tech

For someone like me who swears by firefox there is a good news , firefox 3 Beta has arrived . It has lot of security improvements , memory leak fixes, better download manager and faster AJAX loading means that your gmail will load faster . Note that you might loose some add-ons if you download the beta so if you are impatient like me give it a try here.

Surprisingly it is available in Gujrati but not in Hindi (as hindi is more spoken then Gujrati ) & more surprisingly Gujrati version is not available on Windows , it is only for Mac and Linux.

IPTV in India : Update

Published by Veresh under Tech

Finally Reliance Communications and MS has agreed on a deal by which RCom will become exclusive partner for MS IPTV platform in India . Commercially it will be launched by next year starting from Mumbai and New Delhi. As per moneycontrol monthly cost will be somewhere between 700-800 Rs/- , but considering the scale I would expect monthly cost to be low. RCom may bundle IPTV services with mobile , fixed telephony , boradband to bring down the cost.

As an update looks like MTNL is offering IPTV as can be seen here. Tariff are still not given.
