I just tried out the above approach on my wordpress.com blog, but it doesn't work. Unfortunately, they also strip out the iframe tag when publishing the page.

Well you can embed the widget in wordpress also by uploading the html containing widget code on googlepages ( I am sure everyone has google account ) and then embed the googlepage html in your wordpress blog as iframe.

Only trick is burrp should give the API key for googlepages .
This is in response to Response to
burrp! local widget on a wordpress blog

First of all, congrtulations for being one of the first ones to deploy the burrp! local widget. Secondly, many thanks to you for posting the installation instructions and your experience with the widget.

We are continuously improving the widget. We just launched an upgrade that fixes layout issues for blogs allocating just one of the narrow columns to the widget.

Cheers,
Anand
