Insider Vs Outsider

Published by Veresh under India, India Politics

Last few days in Mumbai has shown what is happening in major cities in India be it B’lore , Chennai , Delhi an Insider vs Outsider debate . Part of some issues raised are true that there is so much influx that resources in these cities are getting constraints but who is to be blamed ?

Here is my story I was born and brought up in MP did all of my schooling engineering there and then moved to B’lore for my master a place some 2000+ KM away from my home town , why did I moved because there were not much job opportunity in MP and only 1-2 good MTech program compared to what I was offered in B’lore. Now if an engineer has to move that much then one can understand the plight of majority of people who hardly had chance to complete there primary education.

Same is happening everywhere we have some cities like Mumbai , B’lore , Chennai , Delhi , Hyderabad which are growing and offering way better prospects , inviting people and in the process crumbling , so what is the solution ?

Goverment should develop more cities , give incentives to businesses for setting shops in small cities like Mysore , Nagpur . Give incentives to farmers so that they stay put in there villages otherwise what is happening in Mumbai might happen in all metros

Delhi at its best but still miles to go

Published by Mohit under India, Musing

I just returned couple of days back from 1 year complete  stay at London, UK. On the very first visit, any Indian(esp Delhite) will note the brilliant work by GMR in renovating the Delhi Internation - IGI airport. Although it still lack the lustre of ‘INTENATIONAL AIRPORT’ but dont forget its just start and things are not yet finished.

As soon as you came out and start your way back to city, broader roads, flyovers, underpass will take your attention. Unfortunately, traffic is still as bad as it was an year back. Another surprising factor was the presence of Nissan and Renault on Indian road alng with n number of new models of existing car manufacturer like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai etc. This shows the depth in Indian Market which is compelling big players to come to India. Next few days visit to malls and Delhi Metro clearly depicting Delhi hence India growth story.

English Premier League (EPL) : Arsenal on top, chelsea race to 2nd

Published by Lalit under Premier League, soccer

Arsenal maintained their top stop in Premier League with 5 points adrift from 2nd place chelsea. It seems that this will be the season of gunners who are yet to loose any Premiership game. If they maintained their current form all through this season then it will be rare and second instance for gunners where they will win a title without loosing a single match .

Recently released Yash chopra’s production and Madhuri Dixit’s ccomeback films is facing some trouble in North Indian states. The movie which has some comments on Dalits was banned in U.P. first and later on Punjab and Haryana followed the same.  As per the latest updates, banned has been lifted from U.P. but its very much there in other two states. well yes the surely this movie is making politicans and producers dance but with all wrong reasons.

India Vs Pakistan, 2nd Test Match Day 3 stumps Eden Garden Kolkata

Published by Lalit under Musing

India - 616/5 dec.
Pakistan- 385/6
centuries from Kamran Akmal and Misbah ul haq

So, another brave effort being put by these two pakistani batsmen but still they need some 80 odd runs to ave follow on and india require 4 wickets. If Pakistan save this follow on then this test match might be heading towards draw. I think first session on Day 4 should decide the fate of the match, Lets wait and watch.

Still wondering do really India need a Cricket coach, they are playing so well for the last 6 months without any head coach but yes the real test for them will be in Australia.

South African batsman - most likely Indian coach

Published by Mohit under Sports

A most unexpected and tricky coach selection by Selection Committee comprising of Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and also BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah in New Delhi on Monday. Most probably, Gary Kirsten, a talented South African batsman, will be the successor of Greg Chappell as a Indian Cricket coach.

The 40-year-old left-handed batsman enjoyed a great playing career, playing in 101 Tests and 185 one-day internationals, before retiring in 2004. No doubts, he is one of the most talented consistent stout batsman but limited experience as a coach.

Find pizza in bangalore from here !!!!

Published by Veresh under Bangalore, Tech

Burrp has released a widget which allows to embed the burrp search functionality in blog making one to boast of some cool features in there blog. What that means ? Visitors to your site can search for Pizza in Bangalore from your blog and see the results in your blog .

Burrp has rich database for restaurants reviews which can be leveraged in blog by using search widget . Following functionality are there is the widget which I think is useful :

  • Auto completion for the areas in the city so for Bangalore Widget (which is running here) if people type in K then they get suggestion for the locality starting with K in the type box.
  • Showing the search result in the widget which has phone number of the place , rating and cost of the meal.
  • Ability to send the address of the restaurant from the search result as SMS without leaving the blog.

For me down side of the widget is that it is not a wordpress widget in the true sense and require some plumbing but considering this is first version we can expect improvements in future versions.

Try it out here , remember you can search only in Bangalore :
